The first few weeks after Ben took his own life were a blur of taking care of the business of death: picking up his things at the coroner, planning and having the memorial service, receiving all the friends and family that came or stopped by. When these were over I searched and searched for books or information that would help me get through the day. I couldn’t find any that worked for me, so I wrote the book that is linked below.
These words come from my experience. They are not based on research though, as Carl Rogers said, “What is most personal is general.” My hope is that it will help you through your loss, whatever it may be.
This book features two parallel parts: my thoughts and a journal. At the end of each chapter you will find questions and space to write, draw, paste photos or whatever you are moved to do. The journal part can be used or skipped over. Feel free to add more pages if you need more space, or you may prefer to begin a blank journal of your own, rather than writing on these pages. I hope you will find the questions helpful springboards to get you started as you go forward on your journey.
If you find this book of value, please consider a donation to The Ben Fund by selecting the donate page on this site. Your donation it one hundred percent tax deductible.
I wish you peace, solace, self-care and self-discovery.
